The plant has three streams with a combined capacity of 1028 m3/day. It also has a calcium hypochlorite dosing system that disinfects the product water before it is transferred via four potable transfer pumps to the WA"AD AL SHAMAL City Storage and Distribution center. Before being distributed, the product water is remineralized to satisfy WHO guidelines for potable water. While the soiled backwash water is gathered in a tank and further processed for reuse, WETICO releases the environmentally safe RO reject water to the new RO reject WTP.
